There are a number of things that you need to think about and you should always approach the design with your ideal customer in mind and think about how they would like it to look and what information they would like to see. This should also be reflected in the domain name that you use and how it will link to your overall business name and branding and Domain Name. Here are a few do’s and don’ts that you might want to consider in the planning process.

Fancy fonts are overlooked.

You are probably better off not using it as “cool” as you think that font is looking on the site. New fonts are difficult to process for individuals and you will lose their already brief attention. Try and avoid scripts. Keep it to easy to read fonts and text.

Big images draw more attention than tiny ones.

Make them count if you use photos on your website or landing page. Big and bold photos will attract their attention and you will do well by introducing them to a specific call to action.

Headlines attract attention as well.

Use as many headings as possible that are descriptive. This is what individuals use to scan your website. Once they find something connected with their issue, they dig deeper only after that.
