The do’s and don’ts of web design

Planning your business website is an exciting moment but it can also be fraught with stress and anxiety as to whether you are going to get it right. Here are a few do’s and don’ts that you might want to consider in the planning process.

Fancy fonts are overlooked.

You are probably better off not using it as “cool” as you think that font is looking on the site. New fonts are difficult to process for individuals and you will lose their already brief attention. Try and avoid scripts. Keep it to easy to read fonts and text.

Big images draw more attention than tiny ones.

Make them count if you use photos on your website or landing page. Big and bold photos will attract their attention and you will do well by introducing them to a specific call to action.

Headlines attract attention as well.

Use as many headings as possible that are descriptive. This is what individuals use to scan your website. Once they find something connected with their issue, they dig deeper only after that.
